To measure the height of raise required:-
Sit on a chair that allows the knees and hips to be at right angles with the feet flat on the floor (e.g. a "dining type" chair). Measure from the floor to behind the knee. Then measure the height of the toilet. The difference between the two measurements is the height of raise that you require.
